Yes, I do like Parades!

I know July is Hot! But it's such a great month! I love celebrating Independence day, I love fireworks, I love the green grass and seeing everyone outside! It actually makes me sad, when July is over, because I know it's getting closer to the months where it's cold. Call me crazy, but I love July! There is so much to do!

Here is Carter, Brylie, Harrison, EmmaLee and Indie picking up candy at the Magna Parade on the 4th.
EmmaLee collected a whole bagful of candy, while Carter just ate his candy as he picked it up!

This picture is of me running the 10K at the Pioneer parade on the 24th. I finished the race in 56:58. So I was very happy with my time! It was so fun to run with so many people.

This is my brother-in-law Ben, making his way to the end of the race!

And our neighbor Kristin and her sister during the 5K!

Here's Amanda, running the 5K also! It was so cool to have so many people running! My sister and her son also ran the 10K! It's the cool thing to do! Everyone should join next year!

Me after the run. I have been training for this race since January. I just started out really slow, and then worked my way to more and more miles. I consistently ran three times per week. I have a calendar hanging in my room and every day that I ran, I wrote my miles to keep track of my progress. So from January 1st, to July 24th, I ran 245.3 miles!

Waiting very patiently for the parade to start! EmmaLee was so excited, and she kept asking when it was going to start! However, because we had to be there early, it took two and a half hours before it finally came to us!

Amanda and Ben, after the race!

Cameron and my sister Jodie

Neil and Bryan

Harrison, my niece Val and Alion.

My parents came down from Idaho to watch the parade. They were nice enough to sleep out so that we could have a great spot in the shade! My Dad just barely turned 78 and still was willing to sleep out! What troopers! My sister Jean, who ran also, is sitting next to them.

The anticipation!

This is a picture of Neil's hand. He fell on it Saturday morning long boarding. He's really frustrated because it's his right hand and the Doctor told him he can't do anything with it! So no sports for him, which is going to be really hard for him. He has a brace that he has to keep on in 24/7 but he takes it off about four times a day to ice it. He has a possible fracture, but because of the place where it's at, it's hard to read it on an xray. So the doctor said that if it's still sore and swollen within a week, they'll have to look at it again. Poor Neil!

My-New-Life

My-New-Life

This video is amazing. It makes me appreciate life and my family so much!
I find myself thinking about her during the day, and wondering about all of the simple things in life that I take for granted. I've started following her blog and finding out more about her. If I could have the outlook that she has as a mother, oh how amazing that would be. I look at my kids and husband in different eyes, and realize how precious life is.
