It's simple...

Two days ago, EmmaLee learned how to ride a bicycle with out training wheels! She had been noticing other kids’ bikes without training wheels, and she decided it was her time. When Neil took them off, he held onto the back of her bike for maybe about 15 seconds, and she was off. It was seriously amazing! Of course, I think so because I’m her mom, but it really was incredible! I think I really needed it that day. Not for EmmaLee, because she’s so happy that she can go so much faster, but for me. I needed a simple pleasure that day. Those kinds of events are what life is all about. It makes life living for. The night before EmmaLee learned to ride, we were all on our way home from visiting family. Neil and I were talking about life and some of the bad things that people have to go through. While talking, Carter was in the back seat singing to himself, “do dah! do dah!” And other various words he knows. That night I just cried thinking about how simple his life is right now, and how he’s so incredibly precious. He is so innocent and loving. He doesn’t care how old our car is and if it will make it through another year. He doesn’t care that we can’t buy him toys or the best looking clothes. He also doesn’t have to worry about the pressures of life and friends trying to persuade him to make wrong choices. Oh how sweet and simple my children are! As some of you may know, my family (parents and a few siblings) have had it rough. They have made some decisions that have impacted my family’s life forever. Our family will never be the same, but oh how I wish it could! I wish I could clap my shoes together and make everything back to normal. Knowing that this cannot happen, pushing back the tears, I try to look for the simple pleasures in life.
Here are just a few:

Uncle Chad leaving on his mission, with all of the grand kids.

EmmaLee will be six years old when he gets home. That seems so crazy to me!

Gotta love that fake elephant at the zoo!

Some ducks at Wheeler Farm.

We were lucky enough to earn some extra money to be able to take a small "vacation" to Cowabunga bay. It was a great way to end the summer before Neil goes back to school for his LAST year! If you can't tell I've very excited.

They LOVED it!

We love to go to Aunt Erica's soccer games!
