Pioneer Day

This little one is all over the place!!  She's crawling and climbing on everything, I wouldn't be surprised if she was an early walker.
Call us lame, but it's a tradition, we love parades!  It makes me feel so happy, even though it can be hot and crowded, you can count on us attending the pioneer parade.
I have to give a big shout out to my parents who are always so willing to stay, and sleep out for us so we always have a great spot.
Our family of 5!  Sometimes a family picture is a hard one to come by.  We usually are bribing Carter to sit and smile, this is as good as is gets this time.
EmmaLee and Hannah!  One of EmmaLee's best friends, they had a blast together at the parade.

It makes me sad to think that the parade is over, that means Summer is coming to an end, and Fall is fast approaching.  We have been so busy this Summer, but I LOVE it!

St. George!

Our family and Neil's best friend from high school, Nate and his family have decided to make a tradition out of celebrating our anniversary in St. George! Our anniversary is March 12, and theirs is March 10th.  We celebrated our 9th year, and they their 7th.  By March we're dying to get some sun, so its been the perfect place to go!
Oh my!  Do you see how high in the air Neil through EmmaLee?  And thanks to Nate who is an awesome catch! This is such a cool picture, at one of our favorite places, Snow Canyon.
 Me, Mya and Alyson

Alyson bought all of the kids matching pajamas.  They all looked so cute, but by the time it was bed time no one was willing to cooperate for a good picture.  But hey, that's real life right there!
Swimming... a must when you're on vacation! All of the kids LOVE the aquatics center there and especially the slide.
Mya was all ready to go, but never made it in the water, she slept the whole time!

Playing racquetball, or watching, I guess!
St. George Temple Visitors Center.  All of the cute kids!!
EmmaLee, Mya, Hannah, Carter and Daniel.
This wasn't planned, but all of the girls ended up wearing pink, and the boys blue and white striped!

The Temple is just so beautifully white!
I had to bribe Carter to smile in this picture, but it worked out... sometimes that's all that works!!
Happy Anniversary to the love of my life!  It's been the best nine years!!  Can't wait for more.

We had the best time, the kids were great in the car, everyone played well together, it was a fun fun time! I can't wait for next year, I'm all ready to go back!

A little bit about Mya

I thought I'd post about our sweet Mya, I've been so bad at posting since she's been born, so this is dedicated to her!
Her and Olivia are two weeks apart, I thought this was adorable, it looks like Mya is trying to soothe Olivia.
Oliva, EmmaLee, Mya, Carter and Carson on top!
Mya has lots of baby cousins, this is what Grandma Scott's house looks like, there are always a row of car seats! In this one there is her, Zack and Brooke.
She loves to be held facing backward

 My three adorable children!
Gotta love this face! I had the camera pointing at her and this was her expression when she saw the red light flashing.
This little girl is such a joy!  She is now four months old, and growing so fast.  Most people comment on how adorable her cheeks are, and how she looks just like EmmaLee and Carter.  We have loved having her!  She is a good baby.  For the most part, she sleeps through the night, on occasion she'll wake up to eat, but then she goes right back to sleep.  Mya loves her mom!  Because she was a winter baby, with all of the sicknesses around, I kept her in the house with me.  Especially after her two trips to the hospital.  So at night mom is all she wants!  Don't get me wrong, I love it! But I feel bad for everyone else trying so hard to help her and I'm the only one who can calm her down.  But overall she is an awesome baby! So calm and relaxed.  She is cooing, smiling and laughing. She doesn't take a Binky, so that has been a change from my other two, but she seems just fine without it. (Although there are many times I would for her to take one!) The kids just adore her and ask to hold Mya all day.  She brings joy to our lives.  We just LOVE her!

Back to the Hospital

Mya at Primary Children's hospital again.. due to a cold/fever. This is the doctor taking fluid from her tiny little spine.

This was hard to watch.  All of the tests and torture she had to go through.  I just kept looking at her tiny little body on this huge bed, praying that she would be okay.
If at all possible, try never to let your baby get a fever before 60 days of age.  The pediatrician will send you to the Emergency room and this is what they HAVE to do: Spinal tap, Blood work, Urine test, IV's and anti-biotics for 24-48 hours.  The poor poor girl!  They just have to be careful, and have to make sure the baby doesn't have a bacterial infection or meningitis.
On Thursday November 29th, her one month birthday, Mya was not feeling well at all. She wouldn't open her eyes all day.  I knew something was wrong.  I went to the pediatrician in the morning, but they said she was okay, just to watch her.  Throughout the day, I could tell she was getting worse.  Her fever kept rising.  She wouldn't eat much and would randomly shout out a cry in pain, and then go right back to sleep.  So I took another temperature and it was 101.9.  I called the pediatrician and they said go straight to the ER.  I guess if babies have a Temp of 100.4 or higher, they should be seen.
This is Mya with the nurses deep suctioning out her nose so she could breathe. As the night went on she got more and more congested.  It was a very long night!  Neil and I were so worried about her.  She just wasn't herself.  She even fought the nurses in taking medicine.  She closed her mouth so tight, and then when the medicine was in her mouth she would spit it back.  She didn't want anything to do with anyone!
The cast looking thing on her left arm was support to help keep her IV in her arm.
The tests came back saying she had two virus'.  One was a cold one, and the other a type of flu.
We were able to go home, late night, the next day.  She was keeping her temperature down, and was fighting off her symptoms.  I just felt so bad for her and all that she had went through.  She's a fighter!  We just love her so much!  It's been hard on the family with having to go through this roller coaster ride.  I've been trying to stay strong, especially for EmmaLee.  She has had the hardest time.  But I feel like we've learned a lot.  We have been so blessed with support from family and friends.  I don't know what we'd do with out everyone.

Mya's newborn pictures

A big thanks to my sister-in-law, Jill, who took these amazing pictures of Mya.  We are so blessed to have Mya in our family!
