More Random Moments

Look what you can do with bubbles!!

Neil and all of his brother's went to the USA/El Salvador World Cup pre-qualifier game. They had the best time! USA won, by the way! 2-1.

While the boys were gone, I got to hang out with Jill and her cute little one, Hannah. EmmaLee just adores her and wants to hold her all of the time!

EmmaLee, Carter and I, (and Neil, when he's home) Love to go to Erica's soccer games! You'll find us there almost every Tuesday and Thursday. It has been so fun to watch! Way to go Erica! Ironically, she has the same number that I had at Cyprus and we also played the same position, how cool is that? Anyway, we just love soccer, it's so fun!

Here is Carter, he just walks up to anyone, and tries to get attention. Here he is standing on someones skateboard, and getting a soccer player to help him out! He also tries to steal the soccer balls that he sees are out!

Random August Moments

We painted our bathroom, during Neil's time off school, and we left the door open (don't ask me why we did that!) Five seconds later, we ran in and Carter had painted the floor, himself and left a footstep trail! Oh, how I love that boy, but he sure does get into everything!

So, unfortunately, it's back to school for Neil and back to our regular old routine! We haven't had much going on lately, but I thought I would post a few random pictures from recently. Every year, I get so sad around this time, because I know that snow is just around the corner. Don't get me wrong, I like snow, I just am not fond of it six months out of the year. (Which probably isn't true, but it seems like that's how long the snow stays around in Utah!) Mostly it's hard because I feel like I have to stay in my house with the kids. And it gets dark so fast! I need warmth and daylight! Anyway, moving on... Here are some fun pictures of random events..

The Oquirrh Mountain Temple. (I guess this was a July moment, but close enough!) It was beautiful and the kids did great! I was surprised when they handed out cookies and bottled water at the end. It was a perfect day, and a good chance to talk to EmmaLee about Temples.

We tried to get a good family picture, but as you can see, the kids weren't having any of that!

My sister-in-law Jill, at her baby shower right before she had cute Hannah. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of my newest Niece. She was born August 13th, and a cute one she is!

Here is a picture of me, after getting off the worst plane ride of my life! Here is a picture of the lovely white throw-up bag!

Carter LOVING playing in the water and sand at the beach in DayBreak. He had a blast!

EmmaLee crying at the beach, because she had just fallen in the water, and water went up her nose! Poor girl.

Us at the Gateway with some neighbor friends playing in the fountains. Although we didn't get too wet, the kids just wanted to watch that day.

Carter loves to turn on and off the TV. Especially when you are watching your favorite show!

Neil sliced his thumb while opening a can. It bled on and off for about five hours. He had to keep constant pressure on it. He probably should have had stitches, but he took care of it well, so I hope it heals well.

Neil, my cute husband, showing off his thumb! Later that day, he also got stung by a bee on his foot! And yesterday, EmmaLee got stung by a bee on her cheek! Crazy!

Wicked!

I was able to go to Tulsa to see Wicked and to visit family. It was so much fun! Neil was gracious enough to watch the kids. He did such a great job, too good, in fact! I did miss him and my kids a ton, but I am so glad that I was able to spend four days with my sisters. I was sick on the plane ride out, I'm pretty sure I had food poisoning from the night before. It was the worst plane ride ever! But thank goodness for those little white bags that the airlines provide for you! While in Tulsa, we had such a great time, shopping, eating out, and of course attending Wicked. I would recommend that to anyone. It was amazing. My brother-in-law Dave spoiled us and rented a limo for us to ride in. We were all shocked, and couldn't believe that we were going to spend the night riding in style. While we were there my sister Jill, owns her own hair shop, so she waxed all of our eye brows and cut our hair. It was so much fun, thanks to everyone for making it such a great trip. I hope we can do it again sometime, and maybe more of us sisters can make it!! Love you guys!

Us all at the Olive Garden, mmm Yum!

This was a bug that ended up on my sister Jodie's shoulder! It was so funny, we took this picture in the limo before we knew the bug was there. Then when we found it, we all screamed and jumped around until Jill finally killed it! The limo driver thought we were all crazy! This picture is zoomed in a ton of times so you can see it.

The joys of wax!

My turn!

Dinner at the Cheesecake Factory before our flight left. Jodie, JaNeal and Jennifer.

10K

I ran the 10K last Friday. I was so excited that I finally made it to my goal. I started running at the beginning of the year, and in January just running .5 miles made me tired! I started out slowly, but I kept adding on miles each month until I reached 6.2. I'm not going to lie, it was a lot of hard work. I did want to give up at times, I could have come up with many excuses, but with the help of Neil watching the kids and his support, I dedicated about an hour 3 times a week to running. I wish I could say that I love running, but unfortunately I still don't. I do like it, however. I have found that running has been a huge stress reliever for me. It gives me time by myself, with time to think about everything, or nothing. I can just listen to the music and enjoy, or get my frustrations out so that I can be a better mom. Every time that I ran from January till July, I wrote on the calendar how many miles I ran, to keep me on track. I added up all of my miles and I calculated that I ran a total of 181 miles. I better start talking to Neil about getting me some new shoes!! Thanks to everyone for their support, I really couldn't have done it without you! Anyone up for running next year???

My Brother-in-law Ben ran with me. He was so great to stay with me. It was a lot of fun to have some one to run with and talk to along the way! Thanks Ben! And thanks to Jodie for taking these great running pictures! We ended up with a time of 1 hour 1 minute and 1 second! A time I probably won't be able to forget. I ran 9:50 minute miles, and that is about what I wanted to be at, so I was happy. Maybe next year, if I still do it, I can cut off some time.

Here is me, Ben, Marianne and Chris.

We had a ton of fun at the Parade afterwards. Neil's sister Erica and him saved a great spot in the shade at 12:00 noon, the day before! Thanks! It was so nice to enjoy the parade and not be so hot!
